Hello! I'm Michelle 李雨荷 (lǐ yǔ hé), a film producer turned visual and strategic designer from Shanghai based in New York City, where I'm completing my master's at Parsons School of Design. I discovered a love for photography at a young age, which has since grown into a tremendous passion for visual storytelling.

As an undergraduate, I delved into the world of foreign policy and nonprofits, though upon approaching the halfway point of my undergraduate studies, amidst the pandemic, I began reassessing the types of impact I wanted to make. Feeling an unshakeable pull towards more creative work, I decided to pivot and pursue my love of visual storytelling.

After exploring various ways media and technology can be employed, I’ve comprehended their ability to deliver content to mass audiences, evoke similar emotions across diverse groups, and affect change in different contexts. I’ve gained a fascination with media and technology's potential to innovate, influence, inform, and entertain.

Now, with a background in international relations and environmental studies and experience in photography, film production, and graphic design, I use art to communicate about issues of importance to me. I'm particularly passionate about social justice, climate action, media, entertainment, and visual storytelling and am always looking for opportunities to combine these professionally. Studying Strategic Design and Management at Parsons, I’m learning to combine strategy and visual design to communicate beyond aesthetics in ways that are also ethical, accessible, and meaningful. Find me curating playlists, reading on public transportation, eating breakfast for dinner, dancing ballet, with my cats, or via email.
