This exhibit came to life through collaboration with clients at New York State Parks and consultations with stakeholders from the Seneca Nation. Spanning three zones, this exhibit highlights the significant history of Niagara Falls and Western New York— from the Seneca Nation and early colonial era to the Underground Railroad and development of hydroelectric power.


The exhibit spans three zones: Zone 1 tells the Seneca creation story, Zone 2 covers the role of the Falls as the original home of the Seneca Nation, a French colony, a key location in the Underground Railroad, and a major turning point in the development of hydroelectric power, while Zone 3 conveys the lasting culture, traditions, and attractions today.
