I miss my home a lot — the longer I'm away, the more I worry I'm forgetting details about it. In Chinese, the character for home is 家 (jiā). Similar to the word in the English language, 家 can refer to places as much as it can to people, objects, sounds, smells, feelings. 家 isn't confined to four walls, and it means something unique different for everyone. For me, it is my family, the color red, food as the ultimate love language, traditional patterns and motifs, other first-generation immigrants I've found community with, an entire city, and so on. This series is for my 家 and everything that brings me closer to it.
